The sheep that started it all
Driving through the Icelandic countryside,
one often stumbles across sassy little sheep such as this friendly herd.
We came across these treasures while wandering aimlessly across the top of a glacier in western Iceland’s rocky terrain .
As I sat watching these fluffy creatures happily munch on tough local flora, a spark lit in me.
”I want my own herd!”
Christopher thought I was crazy when the spark began to take flame of the dreams in my heart.
Our passions for both ministering to the broken-hearted and owning beautiful assets that make the heart light began to merge.
What if we brought the two visions together?
Thus the vision of a homestead began to grow in our hearts.
We are a family that believes in the hard, honest work of marketplace ministry as much as we believe in resting in the goodness of the Lord’s creation. While we seek out the perfect property to do so, we will use our little Pennsylvanian quarter-acre to begin diving into this dream we call our future.
We pray our little homestead breathes life into the idea that work and rest can cohabitate in a healthy, satisfying way.
If even the sparrow has found a home, then who are we to question if the Lord has made a place for us to rest?
